(NYSE: T) company, today announced that it would be holding several
speaking sessions at Gartner
Symposium/ITxpo detailing the benefits of seamless process integration,
secure file transmissions and supply chain optimization. The conference is

seven presentations on innovative solutions that provide collaboration
across customers, partners and suppliers globally for greater
operational efficiency from Oct. 12-16,
in Orlando, Fla.
In today's global commerce environment, no company is successful alone.
All businesses must effectively integrate with their trading community of
suppliers and customers to be successful. Two presentations demonstrate
innovation in integration:
-- "Integration War Stories -- Lessons Learned While Developing an Agile
Enterprise, Creating Competitive Advantage With Integration Technology" is
a panel discussion hosted by Gartner analyst L. Frank Kenney that will
discuss how Sterling Commerce customers have transformed their businesses
by developing agile systems based on a multi-enterprise
service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach to integration solutions.
The panel will include Timothy Culver, executive director, AT&T Mobility;
Dan Eng, EC development manager, Jabil, Inc.; and Shaun Barnes, EDI
Team-Americas, Johnson Controls.
-- "Supporting Acquisition and Expansion via Business Integration and
Network Consolidation," hosted by Culver, will present how AT&T Mobility,
the largest wireless carrier in the United States, was able to make its
information technology (IT) integration team a key business enabler while
experiencing an increasing number of interactions with third-party
providers and large national retail customers.
The Sterling Commerce managed file transfer (MFT) suite is the
market-leading solution for managing file
transfers of any size, volume or format and gives customers in a
variety of industries the security needed to expand their business. Two
sessions demonstrate innovation in MFT:
-- "5 Steps to Creating a Winning Data Transmission Service" will provide
advice on how to leverage technology and process to transform a data
transmission department into a "Transmission Service." The session will be
co-presented by Jeff Buchholz, infrastructure engineer manager, CIGNA, a
leading health service company, and William McKinney, global marketing
director, Managed File Transfer for Sterling Commerce.
-- "SSH: Is it Real or Just a Shell Game?" hosted by McKinney, will discuss
increasing regulatory requirements to encrypt file transfers, as well as
when and if organizations should turn to SSH (secure shell) to secure their
file transfer protocol transmissions.
"In order to achieve success and remain competitive in today's global,
challenged economy, businesses are increasingly dependent on
mission-critical information from both inside and outside the enterprise,"
said Chris Johnson, vice president, B2B Integration for Sterling Commerce.
"Our speaking sessions will provide attendees with innovative ideas that
can help businesses connect, communicate and collaborate with their
customers, partners and suppliers in a productive, secure and effective
manner."
Additional Sterling Commerce customers will present on their experience
with integration technology to provide collaboration
across customers, partners and suppliers in the following sessions:
-- "Johnson Controls Supports M&A Growth by Consolidating Global
Integration Infrastructure" will describe a multi-enterprise SOA approach
to centralizing integration infrastructure that enables business units
across the world to support corporate growth via an acquisition strategy.
Barnes will present.
-- "Jabil Circuit -- Global Integration as a Competitive Differentiator"
will explain how Jabil seamlessly integrated applications on a global scale
and improved near real-time process automation and visibility to better
satisfy customers and suppliers. Eng will present.
-- "How True Value Manages Their Global Supply Chain With Real-Time
Visibility" will discuss managing a complex global supply network that
involves integrating process and information flows from suppliers,
