Jill Sigal Named Executive Vice President Corporate Communications and Government Relations

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - October 14, 2008) - EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE : ES ) CEO and
Chairman of the Board, Steve Creamer, announced today that Jill Sigal has
been named Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and
Government Relations.
"Jill has done an outstanding job heading our government relations
department. This new appointment recognizes that achievement as well as
the interrelationship between government relations and corporate
communications," said Steve Creamer. "Jill's strategic planning abilities,
and her ability to effectively communicate company positions, will serve
her well and I am confident that she will be enormously successful in this
new position."
Jill will immediately combine the responsibilities of federal and state
government relations, with those of community relations, internal and
external corporate communications. She continues to report to Raul Deju,
President, EnergySolutions.
Sigal is a 25-year veteran of the energy and environmental cleanup
industries. Her most recent position before joining EnergySolutions was as
Assistant Secretary of Energy for Congressional and Intergovernmental
Affairs.
