TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 20, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Reverend Dr. R. B. Holmes, Jr. is leading the way along with a coalition of pastors across the United States to help motivate and mobilize Americans to get out and vote. Dr. Holmes, pastor of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and President of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, is leading a Mass Rally on Sunday, October 26th in Tallahassee, Florida, the capital of the key battle ground state for the November 4th election, to spread the word of the importance of voting and voting early.
"This election is a historic and extraordinary moment in the history of Florida and the entire country," says Dr. Holmes. "Every voter should joyfully participate in this election. We have an opportunity to bring about real change in this country".
With Florida deciding the Presidency in 2000 by only 537 votes, this rally could be a key factor in pushing the votes one way or another. Dr. Holmes says he's expecting over a thousand voters to attend the rally on Sunday and wants to encourage them to vote early.
"I encourage all pastors, in particular, to mobilize and motivate their people to seize the moment. On October 26th, I will lead a voter mobilization effort for thousands of people exercising their right to vote. I encourage all citizens of Tallahassee to join us in this effort," says Dr. Holmes.
You may join Dr. Holmes in a conference call on Tuesday October 21st at 2:00 PM discussing the importance of early voting and the significance it can play in Florida this November 4th.
