Arsen Idrisov appointed new Managing Director for West Siberian Resources Ltd


The Board of Directors of West Siberian Resources Ltd has appointed Arsen       
Idrisov, 37, to become the new Managing Director of West Siberian Resources. He 
is currently a member of the Board of Directors of West Siberian Resources, and 
will take up his new position as of November 1, 2008. Maxim Barski will remain a
board member focusing on business development.                                  

Arsen Idrisov is a Russian citizen and has over 15 years of experience from the 
oil and gas industry. He has been a member of West Siberian Resources' Board of 
Directors since May 2008.                                                       

West Siberian Resources' Chairman, Eric Forss states: “Having completed the     
first step of the merger process, West Siberian has found a highly skilled      
manager in Arsen Idrisov, to lead the company in the next development phase.    
Arsen Idrisov is a recognized business leader and he brings extensive experience

the light of today's economic turmoil is of increasing importance for the       
company's profitability.

Arsen Idrisov was born in 1970 and is a Russian citizen. Member of the board of 
directors of West Siberian Reources since May 2008.                             

Mr. Idrisov graduated with Honors from the Russian Economic Academy named after 
G. V. Plekhanov in 1993 after majoring in international economic relations. In  
1992-1993 studied in Otto Beisheim School of Management/WHU (Vallendar, Germany)
and had training with Marquard & Bahls AG and with Deutsche Shell AG. Between   
1993 and 1997 he held a number of senior positions in international trading     
business including a Swiss trading company LIA OIL S.A., Russian oil major      
SIDANCO. In 1998, Mr. Idrisov became the general director of Alliance Capital   
Investment Company and joined the board of directors of Alliance Group. Since   
2002, he has served as a vice-president for corporate finance at Alliance Group.
In 2001, he was elected to serve on the board of directors of Alliance Oil      
Company. Mr. Idrisov was President/CEO of the Alliance Oil Company from 2002    
until July 2006. Within this period the Alliance Oil advanced to top 50 Russian 
largest companies. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Alliance   
Oil Company since its establishment and has served as the Chairman of its Board 
of Directors since July 2006. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alliance Oil 
Company Ukraine LLC, Chairman of the Board of Finprombank JSB, member of the    
Board Cicerone Holding B.V. (JV with Shell Overseas Investments B.V.).
