Raufoss Fuel Systems wins Scandinavian contract

Raufoss Fuel Systems, a wholly owned daughter company of Hexagon Composites ASA, has been awarded a contract to supply high-pressure all composite (Type IV) cylinders for the road transport of biogas/bio methane within Scandinavia.

The cylinders are made in Raufoss's sister company Lincoln Composites Inc. and are assembled into "SMARTMODULES" at Raufoss Fuel Systems. The modules require thirty-eight, 450 litre cylinders which operate at a pressure of 250 bar. This means that Raufoss/Lincoln offer the largest commercially available cylinder size under current European Legislation for transportation of Compressed Natural and Biogas, hydrogen and many industrial gases on European roads. Use of composite cylinders greatly increases the transportable gas payload.
