CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - November 17, 2008) - GARTNER MASTER DATA MANAGEMENT SUMMIT -- TIBCO
Software Inc. (
NASDAQ:
TIBX) today announced the release of TIBCO
Collaborative Information Manager™ 7.1,
enabling businesses to take advantage of the increasing scope and velocity
of data changes across the enterprise. This is a new architecture for
Master
Data Management (MDM) that eliminates bottle-necks created with
traditional database-focused MDM.
Living data in TIBCO CIM 7.1 refers to the use of an in-memory architecture
that takes the typically reference data activity and makes it an actionable
event. Consider someone who is moving and who calls the phone company with
a new address. Customer service typically takes note, makes the change and
ends the call. Using TIBCO MDM, entering the address change can trigger an
offer for services (such as higher speed internet access or expanded HDTV)
that might not have been available at the customer's previous address. The
benefits to the customer and the company are immediate, rather than
encumbered by a traditional process of waiting for the address change to go
into a database and get picked-up by marketing at some later point in time.
According to Gartner research, the overall MDM market will continue to grow
healthily for several years and will account for nearly $3 billion in
software revenue in 2012, with the MDM of product data domain accounting
for more than 30% of that(1)." TIBCO was positioned in the visionaries
quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Product
Data(2).
TIBCO Collaborative Information Manager is a single platform for all types
of master data. This new release boasts enhancements that simplify
integration and collaboration across business users and IT including:
-- Living Data: A shift to an in-memory architecture for very high-
throughput use cases, additional out of the box Web services, and tighter
integration with TIBCO's Complex Event Processing (CEP) technologies.
-- Business focused interface: A completely revamped user interface that
focuses on business users and incorporates an increased use of Web 2.0
technologies such as AJAX and best of breed design principals based on
TIBCO ONE, providing consistent design, management, governance, and
security across its SOA, BPM, ESB and analytic platforms
-- Advanced data quality: including fuzzy matching and associated
stewardship to better support entity-data use cases, part of TIBCO's
continued strategy to be the only true multi-domain MDM solution in the
marketplace.
MDM is a strategic part of TIBCO's vision to provide infrastructure
software for rapid business change that includes other technologies like
Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA),
Complex Event Processing (CEP), data integration,
application integration (ESB) and
Business Process Management (BPM) software. A list of new version 7.1
