Federal Prosecutor Joins King & Spalding


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - November 18, 2008) - King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that Courtney D. Trombly, a former federal prosecutor, has joined the firm's special matters and government investigations practice as counsel in the Washington, D.C., office. She will focus her practice on internal investigations and corporate white-collar defense.

Trombly joins King & Spalding from the U.S. Department of Justice, where she was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. In this role, she served as lead counsel on investigations and prosecutions involving securities fraud, white-collar crime, money laundering and public corruptions. Before joining the Justice Department, Trombly was a captain in the Judge Advocate Division of the United States Marine Corps. She was awarded the Marine Corps' 2005 Defense Counsel of the Year Award, Eastern Division. She earned a J.D. degree, cum laude, at Boston College Law School and a B.A., cum laude, at the University of Pennsylvania.

Trombly's arrival at King & Spalding brings to 43 the total number of lawyers in its special matters and government investigations practice. Her addition follows the hiring of partner Carl Wessel and counsel Lou Ramos in June.
