CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - November 24, 2008) - The National Council of State Boards of
Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN®) Board of Directors appointed Myra Broadway, JD,
MS, RN, executive director, Maine State Board of Nursing, to fill the
vacancy on the NCSBN Board left by the resignation of Gino Chisari, MSN,
RN, Area IV director.
The area director serves as a member of the NCSBN Board of Directors (BOD),
convenes all area meetings of the member boards within the area director's
jurisdiction and serves as a resource to member boards regarding the
actions of the BOD and NCSBN, among other duties. Area IV jurisdictions
include: Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode
Island, Vermont and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Broadway previously served on the NCSBN BOD as the Area IV director from
2004-2007, and director-at-large from 2000-2002. Broadway holds a J.D. from
Franklin Pierce Law Center, an M.S.B.A. from Boston University,
Metropolitan College, an M.S. from the University of Colorado and a B.S.
from Hunter College in New York. Broadway served in the United States Air
Force Nurse Corps on both active duty and in the Reserves, retiring as a
Colonel in 1998.
