Sonoa Accelerates Management and Governance of SAP(R) Solution-Based Services
Sonoa Reveals Results From SAP Co-Innovation Lab
SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - November 24, 2008) - Sonoa Systems, Inc., an innovative provider of secure cloud
gateways, today announced outstanding results in the management and
governance of SAP® solution-based deployments of Web services, based on
recent tests conducted in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab. Tested in a
high-scale, SAP solution-based environment, Sonoa's ServiceNet accelerates
the policy enforcement and processing of large message sizes demanded by
SAP enterprise services, combining the functionalities of service-oriented
architecture (SOA) governance and traffic management into a single,
high-performance device. Test results demonstrated that Sonoa's
network-router-like approach provides high scalability in service
performance, avoiding the introduction of latency or single points of
failure to improve reliability.
The SAP Co-Innovation Lab offers a hands-on environment for SAP, its
customers and partners to collaboratively innovate, accelerate and showcase
new business solutions and technologies. Via the best practices and
integrated solutions developed in the lab, customers benefit from reduced
integration costs and faster innovation cycles while gaining a new
generation of highly agile and adaptable solutions.
Sonoa is working closely with SAP at the lab to demonstrate how its
products, including Sonoa's ServiceNet, integrate with SOA governance
solutions and SAP solutions, safeguarding consistent security policy
enforcement, compliance, change management and increased performance. A
stress test lasting more than six hours conducted in the SAP Co-Innovation
Lab concluded that Sonoa added very little to zero latency while performing
intelligent policy enforcement for a group of SAP enterprise services that
conduct more than 20,000 sales order and quote history look-ups per hour
with each response message containing 100 line items. In the test, more
than 40,000 sales orders and quote history look-up Web services were called
per hour. Additional benefits demonstrated included visibility into SAP
solution-based service traffic, resulting in better decision-making while
lowering the cost of operations and streamlining data center resources.
"Our customers are seeing many business benefits from adopting SOA and
using SAP's enterprise services. They also value the greater operational
visibility and control of SOA-based applications, such as effective
run-time policy enforcement and SLA management," said Scott Campbell, vice
president of the Co-Innovation Labs Network, SAP. "We've worked closely
with Sonoa in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab to create real-world scenarios and
evaluate and enhance Sonoa's ability to optimize the run-time management
capabilities for SAP enterprise services. This cooperation with Sonoa in
the lab underscores the significant benefits of SAP's customer-focused
ecosystem -- delivering innovative solutions and greater combined value for
our mutual customers."
"Companies have a significant challenge to overcome when trying to
integrate SOA management solutions, especially in a heterogeneous SOA
environment," said Chet Kapoor, CEO of Sonoa Systems. "ServiceNet, when
integrated with SAP applications, combines the functionalities of SOA
governance and traffic management into a single high-performance device.
We're excited about the results of the testing at the SAP Co-Innovation Lab
testing and pleased to be working closely with SAP."
