Anttila and K-citymarket increase cooperation

KESKO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 12.12.2008 AT 09.00 1(1)

Anttila Oy, K-citymarket Oy (home and speciality goods) and the other
Kesko Group home and speciality goods companies are intensifying
their cooperation. They are seeking synergy benefits especially in
goods purchasing, management and customer relationship management.

The operational efficiency project of the home and speciality goods
trade is lead by Anttila Oy's President Matti Leminen, to whom also
K-citymarket Oy's Managing Director Ari Akseli will report as from 1
January 2009. The Presidents of the other home and speciality goods
companies (Indoor Group Ltd, Intersport Finland Ltd, Kenkäkesko Ltd
and Musta Pörssi Ltd) already report to Leminen. In its operations in
Finland, Kesko Food will concentrate on the food trade operated under
the K-retailer business system, and on the grocery wholesale trade
carried out by Kespro Ltd.

For customers, the K-citymarket hypermarket format will remain
unchanged, with K-citymarket Oy responsible for the home and
speciality goods trade and a K-retailer for the food trade. All of
the existing home and speciality goods chains will continue operating
separately.

With effect from 1 January 2009, the Kesko Group's primary reportable
segments will be the food trade, the home and speciality goods trade,
the building and home improvement trade, and the car and machinery
trade. During the first quarter of 2009, Kesko will publish the
comparative information in accordance with its new segment reporting
structure.
