Alan Parker to Become EnergySolutions Chief Operating Officer, International Group

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - December 22, 2008) - EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE : ES ) CEO and
Chairman of the Board, Steve Creamer, announced today that Alan Parker has
agreed to accept the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the
International Group. The International Group is one of the most important
growth areas for the company and Mr. Parker will assist in the worldwide
expansion of EnergySolutions.

Mr. Parker will report to Mark Morant, President of the International
Group. Mr. Parker and his wife, Marla, will relocate to the United
Kingdom.
