Sarraf Gentile LLP Announces the Filing of a Securities Class Action Lawsuit Against Emcore Corporation

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 30, 2008) - On December 23, 2008, a class action lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico against Emcore Corporation ("Emcore" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: EMKR). The complaint alleges violations of the federal securities laws, Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5, including allegations that Emcore issued a series of material misrepresentations to the market that artificially inflated its market price.

The action is brought on behalf of all people who purchased Emcore common stock (the "Class") during the period June 12, 2007, through and including March 17, 2008 (the "Class Period"). If you purchased Emcore common stock during the Class Period, you may ask the Court no later than Monday, February 23, 2009 to serve as a lead plaintiff for the Class. However, in order to do so, you must meet certain legal requirements under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995.

No class has yet been certified in the action. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one. Sarraf Gentile LLP has not filed a lawsuit against the defendants.
