RAMSEY, NJ and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 3, 2009) - When 500 guests to President
Barack Obama's exclusive inaugural ball opened their formal invites, they
saw a crisp high-quality invitation, thanks to Konica Minolta Business
Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) and CREO Branded Products. Konica
Minolta, a leading provider of advance imaging and networking technologies
for the desktop to the print shop, and CREO Branded Products today
announced the bizhub PRO C6501 color production print system from Konica
Minolta and driven by the IC-304 Plus Print Controller, a CREO Color
Server, were instrumental in printing the formal invitations to President
Barack Obama's prestigious inaugural dinner and dance ball.
The presidential ball, which took place on inauguration evening, relied on
Richard's Printing in Chicago, Ill., a long-time customer of Konica
Minolta, for the highly visible digital print job. The invitations were
the print shop's first run on the printing facility's newly purchased
bizhub® PRO C6501 system. An innovative, fast and reliable production
print system, the bizhub PRO C6501 system offers powerful front-end RIP
options and color prints at 65 pages per minute.
"The finished product provided a great first impression to the esteemed
guests of this historic event," said Kevin Kern, Vice President, Marketing,
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "Our friends at Richard's
Printing utilized the award-winning CREO Color Server and the powerful
printing technology developed by Konica Minolta which can always be counted
on to deliver, whether it's for a well-planned presidential inauguration or
a color print job that needs to be quickly turned around."
The invitations were printed on a card stock with a special texture to it.
The media was off-white and the printing was done in black and white with a
golden border. Thanks to the project's smooth production, the invitations
were sent out on ahead of schedule, with CREO Color Servers Regional Sales
Manager, Jon Zink, providing assistance on this special project.
"We are always happy to be a part of challenging print-production
processes, let it be due to the complexity of the job, pressing time
constraints, or advanced color requirements," says Bart Leferink, Director
of Worldwide Sales, CREO Branded Products. "Needless to say, we are proud
to have been involved in this project."
