2009 Free Annual Public Conference
WESTBURY, N.Y., Feb. 19, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NEDA-Long Island will host THE ROAD TO RECOVERY: THE LIFE BEYOND on Saturday, February 28, 2009 to bring public attention to the critical need to raise awareness and funding to battle eating disorders.
The public is invited to attend THE ROAD TO RECOVERY: THE LIFE BEYOND, which will be held at 9:30 am at The Omni Building, 333 Earle Ovington Blvd, Uniondale, LI, NY. Lower Level Auditorium during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
There will be recovery stories -- the actual accounts of three eating disordered sufferers who are now in recovery including one with their family members.
The conference program will also include professionals in the field: Sondra Kronberg, MS, RD, CDN, Vicki Paley, LCSW, BCD, and Daria Dodd, LCSW, who will speak about eating disorders, their impact on family and friends, and the paths and treatment options available to help sufferers travel the road to recovery.
Now in its 22nd year, NEDAwareness Week brings national attention to the severity of eating disorders. It generates awareness and promotes prevention of eating disorders while reducing the stigma surrounding eating disorders and improving access to treatment.
