WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - February 19, 2009) - Hart-Boillot, an advertising and public relations agency specializing in higher education, medical, clean- and high-technology markets, today announced its appointment as public relations agency-of-record for American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine and School of Nursing, a rapidly growing medical school for students who aspire to practice medicine in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

Hart-Boillot will work alongside the university's marketing team to raise the public perception of offshore medical education and entice students interested in nursing or medicine to consider an offshore education. The agency will lead all media relations efforts, messaging, and other public relations services in support of the university.

"Hart-Boillot's experience with both medical and higher education institutions makes the agency an ideal fit for AUA," said Vito Barbiera, Director of Marketing, AUA. "The team's knowledge of the education industry and future of healthcare is evident and we're excited to work together as both our campus and student body continue to grow."

AUA offers a United States-based curriculum comparable to those found in U.S. medical schools and is the only U.S. modeled medical school in the Caribbean with hospital-integration in the early semesters. AUA recently joined with Manipal University of India to offer the Manipal University Twinning Program at Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC), which is ranked among the top five medical schools in India. Together, both campuses afford students the option to complete their coursework at either the AUA or KMCIC campus, and offer hands-on clinical experience the first semester.

In recent years, U.S. medical and nursing schools have shown a decrease in the number of seats available to qualified students, causing a predicted shortage of doctors and nurses by 2010. AUA offers students a world class education in medicine and nursing in an alternative model. Since its founding in 2004, AUA has attracted over 1,400 students, opened a new School of Nursing, and expects to complete its state-of-the-art campus later this year.

"The American University of Antigua initiative provides an opportunity for our team to leverage its experience in the higher education and medical markets," said Nicolas Boillot, Managing Partner, Hart-Boillot. "Given the predicted shortage of doctors, we understand the potential deficit to society and are thrilled to work with an up-and-coming university dedicated to helping fill the anticipated gap."
