LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 24, 2009) - In a new web video produced for the
upcoming release of inspirational running movie, "Beyond the Epic Run,"
respected sports psychologist, Dr. Jay Granat, offers perspective on ultra
runner Serge Roetheli's 25,000 mile world run. The video is now available
on YouTube. View it here:

In the video, Dr. Granat, whose expertise has been featured on ABC's "Good
Morning America" and "ESPN Magazine," describes Serge as a unique athlete
and person. "People who can run the world are very unique. They are not
common, or ordinary. They have a psychological and mental toughness that
some people could never even develop," Dr. Granat said.
According to Serge, if everything was impossible, then why try anything
new? "If one day a guy tried to run around the world, and everyone told him
it was impossible, because he will hurt his knees, ankle, back, wife, and
spirit, then it will stay impossible. But, one morning I woke up and ran
around the world. We succeed and now everyone knows that it's possible,"
Serge said.
Dr. Granat states, "Some sports attract solitary kinds of athletes -- men
and women who like to do things on their own, in their own special way.
Serge probably wouldn't have been a good team player; he has his own way of
doing things."
"Beyond the Epic Run" is a feature length documentary reality film about a
Swiss couple who live their dream to run around the world. Together, Serge
and Nicole Roetheli leave on an epic adventure that leads them out of
Europe, through Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the United States,
testing their boundaries, strengthening their minds and challenging their
bodies. Running the equivalent of a marathon every other day, Serge, the
endurance sports runner, runs more than 25,400 miles in five years, while
wife Nicole rides her Yamaha motorcycle. Using their personal camera they
capture the footage used in this film. Excerpts from Nicole's personal
diary reveal their experiences, adventures and accomplishments throughout
their journey together. For more information, visit the blog at
