ALCO Management, a National Leader in Affordable Housing, Taps Company Veteran to Lead Training and Compliance Efforts

Two Managers Promoted to Oversee Multi-family Portfolios in 5 States


MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 25, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALCO Management, Inc. of Memphis, one of America's leading property management firms specializing in affordable housing, has named 25-year company veteran Leanne Poletti Murray to serve as Director of Training and Compliance.

In making the announcement, ALCO Management, Inc. President Frank Z. Jemison, Jr. said, "Leanne knows that developing our people helps our company grow. She also understands that as we grow, we must maintain consistent compliance with state and federal housing programs and consistent execution of our high performance standards."

ALCO Management is a privately held real estate firm that has specialized for more than 30 years in the development, financing, ownership and management of conventional and government-assisted apartment communities.

The company, along with sister company ALCO Properties, owns and/or manages multi-family communities with nearly 8,000 residential units in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

At the same time, ALCO Management announced two property management promotions.

Christy Miller, who has eight years of real estate management experience, a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University and a variety of professional credentials, has been named district property manager. Working from ALCO's Memphis office, she will be responsible for a portfolio of conventional, affordable and tax-credit properties in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Mississippi. She joined the company in 2007.

Kathie Alexander has been promoted to district property manager and will take on management responsibilities for six multi-family communities in Mississippi and Alabama. She holds her Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) credential, which demonstrates her knowledge of U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs and requirements. She joined ALCO in 2004.
