Global Wind Agrees to Acquire Biotricity Corporation

MIAMI, March 30, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global Wind Corporation (Pink Sheets:GWND) announced today that it has agreed to acquire Biotricity Corporation for stock in GWND. Biotricity is an innovative alternative energy company developing new technologies for the generation of electricity from biomass such as wood chips, sawdust, waste paper and other "non-food" organic materials.

Millions of tons of wood waste and other organic by-products go unused every year because no efficient system for capturing the energy value of these waste materials is available. Biotricity is changing this equation by developing a high speed, high volume combustion technology that will use a continuous flow burner to efficiently turn wood waste into power with very low emissions.

"Biotricity gives us an opportunity to move GWND in an important new direction," noted Alon Razela, CEO. "Electrical demand is growing in the U.S. and the market demands renewable energy solutions to replace oil, gas and coal power plants," he added. "We see Biotricity as an ideal solution because it can effectively turn waste products into electricity at an attractive cost with very low emissions," he concluded.

Global Wind Corporation is an alternative energy company developing wind assets and other alternative energy solutions in the United States and abroad.
