NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 13, 2009) - "Institutional Investor" (www.iimagazine.com)
released the results of the 2009 America's Best CFOs survey, the magazine's
seventh annual ranking of the top chief financial officers in the nation.
"Institutional Investor's" 2009 ranking of America's Best CFOs identifies
the top finance directors in each of 56 sectors within nine categories. The
results are based on the responses of nearly 650 investment professionals
at more than 350 of the world's most influential money management firms.
Fund managers and analysts who responded to the survey chose MetLife's
William Wheeler as the best finance executive in the Insurance/Life sector,
and named Marriott International's Arne Sorenson No. 1 in the Gaming and
Lodging sector.
Virtually all of the top-ranked CFOs are taking aggressive action to ensure
that their companies not only survive the downturn, but also are in a
position to increase their market share when the economy recovers. These
executives are moving to preserve liquidity by clamping down on costs,
paying down debt where possible and taking advantage of market openings to
raise capital.
Survey results are being released today and tomorrow, Thursday, May 14th at
www.iimagazine.com.
Winners in the Basic Materials, Capital Goods, Consumer and Financial
industries can be viewed today (Wednesday, May 13th, 2009).
The top-ranked CFOs in the Energy, Health Care, Media, Technology and
Telecommunications industries will be announced tomorrow, Thursday, May
14th, 2009.
