Cliqset Announces Beta 2 of Social Application Platform

Features Location-Enabled Services and Integration With More Than Thirty Social Networks and Services, Including Twitter, Facebook and Flickr

JACKSONVILLE, FL--(Marketwire - June 1, 2009) - Cliqset, the platform helping stitch together the social Web, today announced the launch of their second beta release. The Cliqset platform offers both developers and users new ways to create, organize and share social information on the Web, desktop and mobile environments.

This latest release features more than thirty third-party social networking and services integrations. These integrations allow developers and users alike to easily and selectively push and pull social information to and from Cliqset, Cliqset-enabled applications and supported third-party services like Twitter, Facebook, Brightkite and MySpace.

Location-based capabilities are a key functionality of this release. In beta 2, Cliqset is offering a Location Services API that allows mobile developers to easily look up location information such as a street address or city using any location-enabled device and store this location information alongside their activities and events. Cliqset has also made a point to integrate their location services with third-party services like Brightkite, Fire Eagle and Twitter, simplifying the process of keeping a user's social and location information in sync around the Web.

"With our first beta, we laid out the foundation for our vision by creating a platform aimed at helping developers focus on creating unique, innovative social applications more quickly and efficiently," said Darren Bounds, co-founder and president, Cliqset. "With beta 2, we're continuing to build out our platform to create a richer social experience for both developers and users. With the addition of push/pull integrations with most major third-party social and location-based services, combined with the creation of a completely open and integrated suite of location services, Cliqset is continuing to change the way that developers and users will create and share social information on the Web."

First launched in beta in March 2009, Cliqset is a platform that captures, organizes and brokers access to social information, creating a seamless social experience everywhere: online, on mobile devices and on the desktop. The company provides a platform of rich social APIs and services for building scalable social applications for the Web, desktop and mobile devices more efficiently.
