JACKSONVILLE, FL--(Marketwire - June 1, 2009) -
Cliqset today announced the
Cliqset Developer Challenge,
which will award developers who build the most innovative applications on
the Cliqset platform with cash prizes totaling $30,000. The contest will
award the best applications in the following categories: Overall, Mobile,
Desktop, Web and People's Choice. The Developer Challenge will engage the
Open Web, mobile and social developer community, inspire creativity in
application design and enhance user experience on the platform.
The Cliqset platform allows developers to quickly and easily integrate as
much or as little social functionality into their applications as they'd
like, while helping users safely share social information with sites,
services and people on the Internet. Cliqset provides a platform comprised
of a rich, scalable set of read/write social APIs that developers can use
as an alternative to building and supporting their own applications,
allowing more focus on building out new social services. Because all
Cliqset applications share a common back-end social infrastructure,
developers can seamlessly share and exchange information across
applications and services, building upon each other's creativity and
success.
Developers can enter the challenge starting on June 1, 2009. Entries will
be closed at 12:00 a.m. EDT on August 1, 2009 with prizes awarded on August
15, 2009. Contest prizes include: $10,000 for Best In Show, $5,000 for Best
Mobile App, $5,000 for Best Desktop App, $5,000 for Best Web App and $5,000
for the People's Choice Award. Awards will be given to the developers whose
applications explore the breadth that the platform has to offer and
heighten the social experience and interaction for the user. Consistent
with Open Web standards, developers retain all intellectual property and
rights to their applications. To enter, developers must follow these steps:
