FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - June 8, 2009) - Today, PlantCML® demonstrated two exciting next generation solutions live in the NG9-1-1 Showcase and on the exhibit floor at the 2009 National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Conference & Trade Show. PlantCML presented its next generation IP (Internet Protocol) Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) featuring VESTA® Pallas™, and the Burke County, North Carolina Satellite Disaster Recovery Solution featuring the PlantCML Sentinel® Patriot® and Sentinel® CommandPost™ applications

With the next generation (NG) IP PSAP demonstration, PlantCML simulates an emergency scenario where someone has dialed 9-1-1 in a small town. The assessment by the call-taker determines the need for emergency airlift to a bigger city. Demonstrating full interoperability and using an IP consultative transfer and receipt capability on the PlantCML next generation VESTA Pallas solution, the call is consultatively transferred to the PSAP in the bigger city. Automatic Number Identification (ANI) and Automatic Location Identification (ALI) are included in the IP triage to the destination PSAP. This pure IP demonstration (no Local Exchange Carrier tandem involved) showcases the rapid and efficient handling of voice and data in an interoperable IP PSAP environment utilizing currently available PlantCML NG911 solutions.

VESTA Pallas -- a complete, pre-configured and IP-based integrated solution for small 9-1-1 call centers -- is featured at the NENA event's NG911 Showcase on Monday, June 8, and is available for viewing at the PlantCML exhibit (Booth #301) during the remainder of the association's show.

The second next-generation demonstration involved a 34-foot trailer hosting a satellite disaster recovery station that is used in live service in Burke County, NC. A reliable, flexible answer for geographically dispersed catastrophic events like Hurricane Katrina, Burke County's satellite disaster recovery station, integrated by Wireless Communications, uses the PlantCML Sentinel Patriot and Sentinel CommandPost applications. This solution enables 9-1-1 calls to be answered and managed when fixed-location PSAPs become uninhabitable. The satellite disaster recovery station also provides other voice and data services such as the county's CAD application, radio, mapping and administrative phone lines.

This vehicle-mounted mobile PSAP facility (exhibit #132) has been used in a number of recent operational deployments, including a manhunt, a drowning, an industrial accident, and in support of the annual Historic Morganton Festival. The mobile trailer is equipped with three Sentinel Patriot stations and two notebook-based Sentinel CommandPost units.
