Sunshine State Names Vanderpool Senior Vice President

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL--(Marketwire - June 16, 2009) - Jeffrey A. Vanderpool has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at Sunshine State Insurance Company (SSIC), John Rogan, President and CEO, announced. Vanderpool has served as Vice President-Claims since he joined the Company in 2003.

Prior to joining SSIC, Vanderpool was Vice President of American Surety & Casualty Company from 1992 to 2003. Earlier, he held various claims and regulatory management posts at Hanover Insurance Company and Dependable Insurance Group from 1984 to 1992.

Vanderpool is recognized as a leader among claims officers in the industry. He serves on the National Advisory Council of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters and the Advisory Board of Enservio, a firm that specializes in management of contents claims. He is a member of the Litigation Management Principles & Guidelines Committee of the Council on Litigation Management.

Vanderpool holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He earned the designations Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Claims (AIC) from the Insurance Institute of America.
