About the Author

Lewis Newberg, M.D. was born in Bronx, New York City, in 1939. He graduated from the old Chicago Medical School in 1964, completed an internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and an Ear-Nose-Throat Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1969, and received his board certificate in 1971. He held private practice in Baltimore until 1993 when he moved to Chaddsford, Pennsylvania. Now, he limits his practice to treating snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Newberg introduced many ear surgeries into Baltimore hospitals as he practiced at South Baltimore General Hospital. These included cochlear implantation, audiant bone conducting hearing aids, and endolymphatic duct surgery. He advanced the sinus surgery of the ethmoids using advanced technology. He also helped developed the laser nasal probe. He is also the author of Snore and Roar.
