RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL--(Marketwire - August 3, 2009) - Pursuant to the article 157,
paragraph 4 of Law No. 6.404 of December 15th, 1976, as amended, and in
accordance with Brazilian Securities Exchange Comission ("CVM") Rule No.
358 of January 3rd, 2002, LLX LOGÍSTICA S.A. (BOVESPA: LLXL3) ("Company" or
"LLX") hereby informs its shareholders and the market that:
As of July 31st 2009, LLX Sudeste Operações Portuárias Ltda ("LLX
Sudeste"), an LLX subsidiary, received from the Environmental State
Institute (INEA) of the State of Rio de Janeiro the construction license
("Construction License") for the implementation of the "Sudeste Port," a
port terminal with a capacity to handle 50 million tons of iron ore per
year in its initial phase. This license is the precedent condition for the
beginning of the port construction, which is scheduled to begin in the
second half of 2009.
Located in the municipality of Itaguaí, 80 km from the city of Rio de
Janeiro and only 2 km away from MRS' railway network, the "Sudeste Port" is
being developed as a mixed-use private port terminal, with a projected
water draft of 20 meters and an area of 52 ha, and, as permitted by the
Environmental License, will have a capacity of 50 million tons of iron ore
per year. The "Sudeste Port" is being developed to ship the iron ore
produced by MMX Mineração e Metálicos S.A. in the State of Minas Gerais, as
well as the production of other iron ore producers from the "Iron Ore
District," also located in Minas Gerais.
The "Sudeste Port" will be the logistic solution for the mining companies
located at the "Iron Ore District" in Minas Gerais that currently cannot
export due to the lack of port availability and will gain access to the
seaborne market through then "Sudeste Port."
The Company expects that the "Sudeste Port" will start operating in the
second half of 2011.
