DryShips Announces Day of 2009 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders


ATHENS, GREECE--(Marketwire - August 3, 2009) - DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) (the "Company" or "Dryships"), a global provider of marine transportation services for drybulk cargoes and offshore oil deep water drilling, announced today that the Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held at the Company's offices located at 80 Kifissias Avenue, 15125, Amaroussion, Athens, Greece on Monday, September 21st, 2009 at 1:00 pm Athens time.

The Board of Directors has fixed the close of business on Friday, August 7th, 2009 as the record date for the determination of the shareholders entitled to receive notice and to vote at the Annual Meeting or any adjournments or postponements thereof.

Formal notice of the meeting and the Company's proxy statement will be sent to stockholders of the Company in due course.
