AEP Netilla Receives Quality Mark From U.K. Government

AEP Networks' Application Access Gateway Passes Rigorous, Independent Testing

SOMERSET, NJ and HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - August 4, 2009) - AEP Networks, a leader in secure communications and networking, today announced that its AEP Netilla® SSL VPN* has again received a quality mark from the U.K. national technical authority at Government Communications Headquarters. AEP Netilla received the CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM) because its security functionality claims have been verified through stringent testing by an accredited, independent lab. The CCTM assures public bodies that a product does 'what it says on the box.'

"AEP Networks is delighted that our security functionality has again been verified through independent testing. It gives our customers additional assurance that the Netilla product provides secure, remote access to applications and meets the strictest Information Assurance requirements," commented Paul Spencer, General Manager for AEP Networks.

Netilla enables organizations to simply, securely and cost effectively provide users with access to corporate applications and files through the security and convenience of a Web browser. All of Netilla's 28 claims (regarding encryption, authentication, endpoint security, single sign on, and more) were tested and validated.

The CCTM certificate verifies the claims that AEP Netilla Security Platform* version 6.0.1.4:

-- Encrypts outgoing session data (including authentication data) using
    FIPS 140-2 algorithms
-- Controls access to specific resources based on access rules, including
Active Directory groups, via AEP Netilla's V-Realms
-- Supports timeouts
-- Manages end-point security through a combination of cache control,
    browser cleaning and host checking
-- Provides secure network-level access via SSL tunneling
-- Supports and encrypts Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client
via AEP Netilla's Intelligent Port Forwarding
-- Maintains a log of logins (Successes & Failures), logouts and tunnel
    connections
-- Provides multi-level administration access
-- Protects corporate LANs via the Web reverse proxy, so end-users are
prevented from direct access to the private network

The CCTM certificate was presented to AEP Networks during IA09: The Government's Information Assurance Event earlier this month. AEP Networks is one of only two SSL VPN vendors holding the CCTM.
