Fans Proclaim Love for Quiznos(R) in Bold and Daring Ways

Toasted Sub Pioneer Announces Winners of "Where Do You Torpedo?" Contest

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - August 10, 2009) - Quiznos, pioneer of the toasted sandwich and one of the nation's premier restaurant chains for sandwiches, salads and soups, has named the winners of its national "Where Do You Torpedo?" contest. More than 260 Quiznos lovers submitted photos and videos demonstrating how to eat Toasty Torpedo™ sandwiches in unusual places or while doing unexpected activities, competing for a chance to win $10,000.

"We challenged Quiznos enthusiasts to show us the most unusual ways they've enjoyed a Toasty Torpedo, and received hundreds of clever, interesting and hilarious submissions demonstrating the many ways that they are passionate about our toasty flavor. It was truly a challenge to narrow it down to just ten stand-out entries," said Trey Hall, marketing spokesperson for Quiznos. "Our top finalists were also very creative in their campaigning, turning to social media to raise their profile and stir up excitement among other Quiznos fans."

From rap videos and original ballads, to extreme sports and international travel, fans expressed their love for Quiznos in a myriad of colorful and humorous ways. Ten finalists were selected by Quiznos, and more than 25,000 votes were cast during a 2-week voting period on www.toastytorpedo.com to determine the grand-prize winner, Ryan Leer. Using mediums like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and blogging, finalists sought to engage consumers and solicit votes for their submissions, reaching Quiznos enthusiasts as well as those new to the brand.

A University of Wisconsin-Superior Communicating Arts major, this is the third time Leer has triumphed in a national video contest. Inspired by his love of Quiznos, Leer combined his video production skills with a penchant for humorous story lines to create the winning "Special Delivery" video. Leer relied on blogs, Facebook and grassroots lobbying to solicit votes, camping out in his local Quiznos and campaigning to customers for two days straight.

"I'm thrilled that my skills -- and my appetite -- propelled me to win this contest. As a video production enthusiast, this was a way for me to use my hobby to tell a funny story about one of my favorite foods," said Leer. "I'd like to think I'm a qualified expert on Quiznos, at times having eaten lunch there for a week straight, so my lunch choice has definitely paid off!"

Another finalist, Joel Levinson ("Skyscrapers"), really went out of his way to show his love for Quiznos. "To get the right skyscraper shots, I actually booked a flight to New York with a five hour layover in Atlanta. I landed and used the GPS on my phone to find the nearest Quiznos. I grabbed some Toasty Torpedoes, tipped a cabbie 40 bucks to start filming me in front of the BOA building, then hopped back in the cab to the airport, and got on the next flight to New York to eat and shoot Quiznos Torpedoes there!"

All finalists will receive free Torpedo sandwiches for a year for their creative "torpedoing." Hailing from across the country, the group of "Where Do You Torpedo?" finalists includes two "professional" contest entrants aside from Leer: Levinson and Dave Aldrich. Citing online video contests as his full-time job, Levinson has won 15 pursuits since 2007, while Aldrich is an avid hang glider whose entries are filmed from the sky.
