Newforma Users Form Community in United Kingdom

MANCHESTER, NH and LONDON--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - Newforma®, a software company addressing the project information management (PIM) needs of architecture, engineering and construction firms, announced today that a group of United Kingdom users of its Newforma® Project Center software have formed a community for the purposes of sharing best practices, providing feedback to Newforma and discussing broader business issues relating to PIM and integrated project delivery (IPD). The Newforma UK User Community has been established and will operate independently from Newforma and its UK reseller partner, Océ (UK).

HOK Director of Emerging Technologies Terry Nichols has volunteered to chair the group. "Initially we are limiting membership of the Community to one or two representatives from each UK firm using Newforma Project Center," Nichols said. "This will allow us to concentrate our discussions and sustain a higher level of interactivity while becoming established. We'll focus our early efforts on sharing best practices in implementing Newforma Project Center and on providing high quality product feedback to Newforma."

"Limited Community membership permits Newforma to discuss future developments under non-disclosure agreements," said Newforma Director of EMEA Operations Tim Bates. "Newforma has built its product on the basis of requests by architecture, engineering and construction professionals. The Newforma UK User Community provides another, more formal input channel to Newforma Project Center product development."

The initial meeting of the Newforma UK User Community took place on June 2nd at HOK's London offices. Fifteen members heard presentations, asked questions and discussed relevant topics, including:

--  Representatives of HOK and Steffian Bradley Architects presented
    overviews of the ways they're using Newforma Project Center software to
    manage information and streamline workflows for design projects, as well as
    to manage information technology and marketing projects.
    
--  Tim Bates showed what's new in Newforma Project Center Sixth Edition,
    and apprised the group on Newforma's product integration with Axomic
    OpenAsset software for image management.
    
--  Members shared experience and advice regarding deployment, training,
    technical issues and more.
