Cisco to Showcase Data Center Customer Deployments


SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - August 27, 2009) -  One month after Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) began shipping its evolutionary new Unified Computing System and one quarter after the Nexus 1000V Virtual Switch began shipping, Cisco will host a live Internet TV broadcast and Q&A session to discuss customer traction and data center virtualization deployments. Cisco will be joined by special guests: James McGibney, lead data center manager, and Jason Morgan, senior network manager at Tutor Perini Corporation, the very first customer to deploy the Cisco Unified Computing System, and CEO Joel Schleicher and CTO Dave Hart of Presidio Networked Solutions, one of the first Cisco UCS Advanced Technology Partners.

  • Soni Jiandani, vice president of the Cisco Server Access and Virtualization Group, will give an update on customer reception and market traction with the Unified Computing System and the Nexus 1000V Virtual Switch. Ms. Jiandani will discuss the variety of virtualization strategies being planned and deployed by enterprise IT organizations today, and explain how Cisco is supporting them.
  • James McGibney and Jason Morgan will discuss their company's data center consolidation efforts, virtualization strategy, experiences with UCS and Nexus to date, business benefits, environmental sustainability benefits, and ROI. Tutor Perini Corporation is a leading U.S.-based civil and building construction company offering diversified general contracting and design/build services to private clients and public agencies around the world.
  • Presidio Networked Solutions' CEO Joel Schleicher and CTO Dave Hart will explain how they are helping clients virtualize their data centers and optimize their existing resources. Mr. Hart will provide a first-hand account of customer challenges and goals and will share Presidio's experience in designing solutions that include Cisco Unified Computing System and Nexus technology. Presidio Networked Solutions is a leading provider of advanced IT infrastructure and managed outsourcing solutions, and is a Cisco UCS Advanced Technology Partner.
