LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 28, 2009) - LSI -- Oscar Nominated Screenwriter Terry Rossio ("SHREK," "PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN," "NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS") and Screenwriter Jocelyn Stamat ("TURBO DATES") will host a fundraising party for the upcoming short film project "CONVERSATIONS WITH LUCIFER," produced by Mad About Pictures, on Sunday, October 4th, 2009.

The private event will include red carpet arrivals for celebrity guests, a meet-and-greet with the cast, screenings of award-winning short films, and a silent auction of donated goods, services, and rare movie memorabilia to raise funds for the production of the project.

The film's writer-producer-star Shevaun Cavanaugh Kastl ("FRANKENSTEIN RISING," "THE LOST WOMAN") worked with Rossio and Stamat on their upcoming Web series "TURBO DATES." Rossio wrote and directed the episode in which Kastl is featured, and the experience of working with the Oscar-nominee (for "SHREK") inspired her to take new creative risks when crafting her own script.

Kastl and director-producer Brendan Davis ("ROUGH HUSTLE," "DEADGIRL," "LIFE WITH FIONA") have assembled a notable cast of actors to bring the script to life. Joining Kastl are Spencer Garrett ("TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN," "PUBLIC ENEMIES," "YES MAN"), Dikla Marshall ("CRIMINAL MINDS"), Kim Kendall ("C.S.I. MIAMI," "STAR-VING"), and Brandon Karrer ("IN HER SHOES," "UNDRESSED"). On the technical side, director of photographer Jim McKinney (camera operator: "VAN WILDER: FRESHMAN YEAR," "MADEA GOES TO JAIL," "2001 MANIACS") will be shooting the film for the team on the Red One camera.

"CONVERSATIONS WITH LUCIFER" is a short film about Darby (Shevaun Kastl), a recovering young addict headed for a relapse. On her 30th day sober, she gets a cat, Lucifer, to mark the milestone, and the two forge an unlikely bond that saves Darby's life and sets her back on the road to recovery.
