Leading Enterprise Software Executive to Direct Product Strategy and Business Development
SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - Sonoa Systems, Inc., an innovative provider
of analytics, management and cloud governance
solutions for APIs and cloud services, today announced that Sam Ramji will
join Sonoa to lead product strategy and business development. In this role,
Ramji will drive the vision and strategy for Sonoa's platforms,
partnerships and product lines, while helping to scale business operations
through continued growth. Ramji comes to Sonoa from Microsoft, where he was
responsible for driving Microsoft's open source strategy as senior director
of platform strategy.
Ramji brings over fifteen years of diverse experience in enterprise
software, product development and open source community. Most recently,
Ramji drove many of Microsoft's contributions to open source and the
company's shift to embrace open source technologies like PHP. Ramji was
also a leader in BEA's move into cross-platform initiatives as a founding
member of the AquaLogic product team. Ramji has built large-scale
enterprise and Web-scale applications, leading the Ofoto engineering team
through its acquisition by Kodak.
"We are thrilled to have attracted a heavy hitter like Sam Ramji, and this
underscores our commitment to driving innovation in the evolving space of
API
management and cloud computing," said Chet Kapoor, CEO of Sonoa
Systems. "We currently help API developers and enterprises -- from leaders
in media to finance -- open and enforce cloud security policies.
Sam will be a great asset in developing the product vision as the company
continues to grow."
"Sonoa is a leader in enabling companies to open their businesses to the
cloud, and provides the essential tools to manage cloud APIs and services,"
said Sam Ramji, vice president of strategy at Sonoa. "The way companies do
business is changing -- expanding and becoming more efficient through cloud
services -- and Sonoa is positioned to shape the landscape of the cloud API
economy. Additionally, I believe that open source and open standards will
play a key role in enabling everyone to participate."
Prior to Sonoa, Ramji was the senior director of platform strategy at
Microsoft and led open source strategy across the company. Ramji had
previously served at Microsoft as director of emerging business for the
Silicon Valley Campus, where he managed relationships with venture
capitalists and entrepreneurs. Other experience includes leading technical
