DONG Energy closes acquisition of KOM-STROM


The EU Competition authorities has approved DONG Energy's acquisition of the
German wholesale company KOM-STROM and filing for approval at the German
financial supervisory authority BaFin has been completed. On this basis closing
of the acquisition has now been completed. The acquisition announced on 11
August 2009 is part of DONG Energy's strategy to strengthen its position on the
German market. 

“With KOM-STROM now being part of DONG Energy we can continue our efforts to be
the preferred partner for Stadtwerke on the German gas and power market. We
will put effort in the integration of KOM-STROM into DONG Energy in order to
achieve the highest possible benefits for our customers”, says Executive Vice
President in DONG Energy, Kurt Bligaard Pedersen. 

The content of this announcement does not alter the previously announced 
expectations for DONG Energy's financial result for 2009 or the announced 
expected level of investments.
