FRISCO, TX--(Marketwire - October 5, 2009) - Century Payments, Inc., an emerging leader in
the credit card processing industry announced that it has entered a
three-year alliance with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader
in the breast cancer movement. Through its merchant services business,
Century Payments will make a one-time donation of $25 and donate 5% of net
revenue realized from each new customer with a minimum annual donation of
$150,000. Century's Every Swipe Counts™ program will be marketed by more
than 500 sales executives nationwide.
"Our entire organization is excited to enter into a new alliance with Susan
G. Komen for the Cure," said Eric Frazier, Co-founder of Century Payments.
"We are honored to help raise funds and awareness for this dedicated
organization determined to find the cures for breast cancer."
"Susan G. Komen for the Cure is excited to have Century Payments as a new
partner in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever," said
Katrina McGhee, VP of Global Partnerships at Komen for the Cure. "We knew
that his partnership was a great fit for our organization as it allows
merchants across the country a visible and effective way to join the breast
cancer movement."
In 2009, it is estimated that more than 180,000 new cases of invasive
breast cancer were diagnosed in women and more than 40,000 women died from
breast cancer in the United States.
"These numbers are unacceptable," said McGhee. "We have come a long way in
28 years, but there is still more work to be done. With the help of
partners like Century Payments, we are moving closer to our vision of a
world without breast cancer."
"Our team has set a very high bar for what success means at Century," said
Robert Wechsler, CEO for Century Payments, "and we intend to put all of our
collective energy into this worthwhile initiative. Our customers will
proudly display Every Swipe Counts signage at their registers and we hope
that this will serve as a reminder to our local communities of our
commitment to the breast cancer movement. We hope to help make a difference
in the fight for the cures one credit card transaction at a time."
Century Payments was inspired to partner with Komen for the Cure through
the personal impact breast cancer has had on Century's leadership team.
"Like so many others, this disease has impacted our corporate family and we
are proud to be united with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an incredible
organization, and I am personally grateful to be a part of this unique
opportunity. This new alliance is our way of extending support to the
community by offering those who select Century Payments for their credit
card processor an opportunity to help join us in the fight against breast
cancer."
