BrightRoll Goes Global: Company Establishes UK Presence, Extends Leading Video Ad Network Around the World and Launches Spanish-Language Targeting

International Expansion Extends BrightRoll's Industry Leading Advertising Platform for Current Global Customers and to New Agencies, Advertisers and Publishers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - BrightRoll, the leading branded video advertising network, today announced global location- and language-based initiatives that expand its focus and services beyond the United States. Along with the opening of its office in the UK, the company is expanding its offerings to include inventory across the globe, including Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom, and now offers Spanish-language content targeting across the BrightRoll network.

BrightRoll's international push comes in response to growing demand amongst UK and other global advertisers seeking to leverage BrightRoll's superior technology, inventory and service. BrightRoll is also responding to a call for solutions that help brand advertisers connect with customers on Spanish-language sites across the Web.

BrightRoll was recently named the third largest video property in the U.S. by comScore, less than six months after being measured. The company's continued growth has been driven by its services and solutions that help advertisers reach target audiences at scale across the Web's most premium inventory. BrightRoll believes that within 12 months it will be a top 10 video property in every international market in which it operates.

"Having worked successfully with BrightRoll in a number of markets I am pleased to see them enter the UK," said Andy Sarfas, Reckitt's Global Digital Marketing Manager. "I am looking forward to working with the new BrightRoll UK team to help drive transparency and best practices within the European online video advertising marketplace."

Mark Charkin will be managing BrightRoll's launch in the UK. Charkin was formerly global vice president of sales at Bebo, the social media network that pioneered award-winning digital productions such as "KateModern," "Sofia's Diary" and "The Gap Year" and corresponding commercial models. He built the company's advertising sales business in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. Prior to Bebo, Charkin was head of EMEA regional sales at MSN and was responsible for growing and developing the company's pan-regional sales business.

"BrightRoll's international push will give advertisers around the world access to BrightRoll's premium publishers and advertising platform, and I'm excited to help the company widen its reach and influence in the global marketplace," said Charkin. "I've been impressed with the speed at which BrightRoll has scaled their business in the U.S., focusing on transparency, quality and excellent customer service for advertisers. I'm looking forward to working with them to help replicate that success in the UK and EU."

"As a company, we've seen steady, strong growth since we started in 2006," said Tod Sacerdoti, BrightRoll's CEO and co-founder. "Looking beyond the U.S. domestic sphere was a natural step for us. We view this as a chance to better serve our current global advertisers and introduce our offering to new clients and markets. Greater reach and international scale will allow us to push forward the standards and advertiser-friendly practices that have driven our success in the U.S."

Leading up to this international introduction, Brightroll has consistently been at the forefront of helping to drive standards, enhanced targeting and accountability around online video. In September, the company leveraged its scale and reach capabilities to lauch its behavioral targeting program in partnership with BlueKai, eXelate and NextAction. Prior to that, BrightRoll came out with a Performance Pricing program that allows customers to purchase video advertising through a single or combination of pricing models. Earlier this year the company introduced Video Impact, which helps advertisers to understand the real point-of-purchase impact of their online video ad spends.
