NuMobile, Inc. and Alternet Systems, Inc. Announce Joint E-Commerce Strategy in China
CARY, NC--(Marketwire - October 7, 2009) - NuMobile, Inc. (OTCBB: NUBL) and Alternet Systems,
Inc. (OTCBB: ALYI) today announced the launch of a joint E-commerce
strategy in China. NuMobile is a young smartphone and mobile computing
software company growing through a roll-up strategy to build a portfolio of
mobile software solutions, and Alternet offers a wide range of mobile
commerce and electronic ticketing payment services and solutions. Alternet
began developing business in China in 2008, with an initial focus on the
Company's e-ticketing solution, while NuMobile announced plans to enter the
market earlier this year. The Companies plan to pursue mobile computing
opportunities with NuMobile's channel partner in the Chinese market, China
Crescent Enterprises, Inc. The Companies also previously announced a
partnership to pursue the mobile computing and smartphone market in Central
and South America where Alternet currently offers its mobile payment
solutions.
Through their joint offerings, NuMobile and Alternet will be able to target
the rapidly growing Chinese e-commerce and mobile phone markets. According
to a China Tech News summary of a recent IDC market research report, trade
in China's e-commerce is expected to reach CNY3.22 trillion in total trade
by 2010, up from CNY1.951 trillion in 2008. The Chinese online auction
site, Taobao.com, similar to E-bay, realized staggering growth, reporting
CNY100 billion in trade volume in 2008, compared to just CNY43.3 billion in
2007. Even with strong growth, the penetration of e-commerce in China is
just north of 25%, leaving considerable room for continued expansion.
Wireless Expertise, a UK-based wireless market research and consulting
firm, expects rapid growth in the global mobile application marketplace
from $4.66 billion in 2009 to $16.6 billion in 2013. Much of the growth is
fueled by mobile phones currently outnumbering PCs around the world 4:1.
Because of their mobility, the opportunity for growth is substantially
higher than fixed-line applications and solutions.
