NEWARK, NJ--(Marketwire - October 22, 2009) - Sage North America today announced the winner and runners-up in its $20,000 Start-Up Cash Contest, aimed at helping entrepreneurs turn their business dreams into reality. Newark-based SoulRealiS LLC was named a runner-up in this nationwide contest spotlighting the entrepreneurial spirit.

"It was a big step for me to go out on my own and form my own business," said Sean R. Scott, founder, SoulRealiS. "This was a great opportunity for me to get exposure for my new company, and I really appreciate the support from Sage for myself and the other entrepreneurs in the competition." SoulRealiS is located in the Enterprise Development Center high technology business incubator at New Jersey Institute of Technology ( where it has received mentoring and coaching support.

Contest participants were tasked with creating a brief video commercial for their business idea or new business (less than two years old), along with their business plan and a brief essay. Based on online votes, the 20 most popular videos advanced to the final judging round. Videos, business plans and essays were then evaluated by a team of small business experts, including Wayne Rivers, co-founder and president, Family Business Institute, and Bob Shephard, Director External Affairs - Florida, SCORE.

Sean R. Scott is the Founder & CEO of SoulRealiS, and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, held software development positions at Merrill Lynch and AT&T, and was most recently a Producer in the video games industry for 2K, a subsidiary of top video games publisher Take Two Interactive.
