Schaltbau Group announces forecast for 2010
Munich, 04 November 2009 - The companies of the Schaltbau Group continued
to perform in line with forecast during the third quarter 2009. The Group's
short-term prospects remain fundamentally unchanged. According to current
knowledge, the Schaltbau Group is expected to achieve sales revenues of
approximately EUR 270 million, earnings from operating activities (EBIT)
totalling EUR 21.0 million and Group net profit of EUR 13.4 million for the
current fiscal year 2009. After deducting the profit attributable to
minority shareholders, the profit attributable to the shareholders of
Schaltbau Holding AG will amount to EUR 11.6 million, equivalent to
earnings per share of approximately EUR 6.20.
The Group is expecting a continuation of the relatively stable volume of
business with the railway industry in 2010. Slight improvements in a number
of industrial areas are likely to be accompanied by losses in door systems
for buses as well as a lower volume of container traffic, thus leading to
decreases in the related industrial brakes business. Altogether, sales
revenues at the level of those seen in 2009 are expected. In 2010, however,
expenses in advance will be necessary in order to attain the growth
predicted for 2011 and the years that follow. This strategic approach is
predicted to lead to a reduction in the result from operating activities
(EBIT) to approximately EUR 17.5 million. Group net profit for the year is
thus forecast to total EUR 11.6 million with earnings per share of EUR
5.40.
