Consilium receives fire safety orders for VHS train in China

Consilium has received orders in China to supply fire alarm systems for a series
of newly developed VHS trains (Very High Speed trains). The total order value
amounts to SEK 15 million.

The orders have been placed by Bombardier's Chinese joint-venture, Bombardier
Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd, and include a total of 80 newly developed
Zefiro VHS train sets. The trains, which can operate in speeds up to 380km/h,
will play an important part in the evolving high speed rail capability in China.

“Our solution is based on technology derived from our new technological platform
and the order is evidence that our offering holds an excellent technological
level. Furthermore, it demonstrates our successful work in business development
projects”, said Ove Hansson, Consilium's President and CEO.

Consilium's fire alarms for trains and metro cars are based on the same proven
technology being used for installations in submarines and other extreme
environments. The systems have a high tolerance for interference from
vibrations, contamination, surrounding electronic fields, variations in
temperature and humidity etc. Other deliveries include London Underground, UK,
High Speed Trains in China, the first metro line in Mumbai, India and X2000
trains in Sweden.
