North Park University Announces Enhanced Scholarships

Students Are Encouraged to Apply Online


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - December 21, 2009) - North Park University is accepting applications from incoming first-year students for two competitive academic scholarships ranging from $4,000 to up to $6,000 annually, for a total of $16,000 to $24,000 over four years. The Virginia E. Hahn Memorial Scholarship and the Trustee Award Scholarship will be granted to students who begin studies at North Park in the fall of 2010-2011. These scholarships are offered in addition to regular North Park University academic scholarships and grants for which students may qualify.

Students interested in applying for the Virginia E. Hahn Memorial Scholarship must be admitted to North Park as a first-year student for the fall 2010 semester, with plans to study history and the intent to teach history at the high school or college level after graduation. Between five and seven scholarships are awarded annually. The deadline for applying for the Hahn scholarship is February 26, 2010.

Students interested in competing for a Trustee Award must meet certain academic requirements, including an ACT score of 28 or above, an SAT score of 1230 or above (math and verbal), or a ranking within the top 15 percent of their class. Potential candidates must submit an online request in order to be invited to one of two weekend competitions. The first registration deadline is Monday, January 18, 2010.
