JASPER, Ind., Dec. 21, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- German American Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:GABC) announced today that its Chairman & CEO, Mark A. Schroeder, has been invited by the Administration to meet with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday, December 22nd. Schroeder is one of only 12 community banking leaders selected by the Administration to discuss economic recovery with the President. The focus of the discussions will center on how to increase small-business lending and how to boost employment.
Tomorrow morning at 10:40 a.m. EST, Schroeder, along with the other 11 community banking leaders, will meet with President Obama and other Administration Officials, including Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Chair of the Counsel of Economic Advisors Christina Romer, and/or Director of the White House's National Economic Council Larry Summers.
