Schwandorf, January 5, 2010 - On January 4, 2010, the binding purchase
offer of the Viessmann Group dated December 15, 2009, has been accepted by
the insolvency administrator of Schmack Biogas AG, Dr. Hubert Ampferl. As a
result, the Viessmann Group has taken over major assets of the operational
business from Schmack Biogas AG and its subsidiaries Carbotech Engineering
GmbH, Stelzenberger Biogas GmbH and Schmack Energie Holding GmbH via asset
deal with effect from January 1, 2010. In addition, the Viessmann Group
acquired all shares of the solvent Italian subsidiary Schmack Biogas
S.r.l., Bolzano.
