A Test of Faith -- A Story of One Man's Challenge to Believe to be Featured in a Regional Book Exhibit

NORMAN, Okla., Jan. 18, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For author Richard W. Leech, M.D., life has been a constant challenge. In his younger years, he was blessed with a productive career and a loving wife, but all good things came to a sudden halt when sickness and accidents began to threaten the lives of the people he has loved most. However, despite all the odds, he was able to view life in a positive light because of his unwavering faith. This inspired him to write Jesus the Healer: Jesus the Challenge, a book that is a testament to his strong belief in God.

As a Christian, Leech shares that the expectation to accept an unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence is typical in his chosen faith. He remains human, though, when life’s curve balls lead him to some degree of doubt. Seeing his wife struggle with a terminal disease while his own body suffers its own maladies has posed great challenges in his life, and even in his belief.

Re-examining his life and faith, the author came to the conclusion that there is truly a God, and that Jesus Christ, His son, is his savior and healer. No longer did he seek proof for his faith; he began to acknowledge that God is always near, at all times and occasions. He recognizes this in Jesus the Healer: Jesus the Challenge, describing in detail why he sincerely believes in God’s grace despite his struggles.

“I give an honest account of my life, both the ups and the downs, the Sturm und Drang, so that each reader can fully appreciate the realities of Jesus being at my side.” — Richard W. Leech, M.D.
