OCI Confirms Board Approval of New Expansions
Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) confirmed today that its Board of
Directors has already approved the expansion of its nitrogen-based
product portfolio to include Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN) with an annual
production capacity of 325 ktpa and Ammonium Sulphate (AS) with an
annual capacity of 300 ktpa. OCI also announced earlier in the year a
20% capacity increase expansion at its 100% owned urea production plant
in Egypt. The total capital expenditure program for these expansions is
currently estimated at USD 200 million. The new production facilities
are expected to be commissioned in phases during the next 24 months.

The OCI Fertilizer Group has plants based in Egypt capable of producing
a total of 2.0 million tons of nitrogen-based fertilizers annually.
In 2010/20111 our fertilizer complex in Algeria in partnership with
state-owned Sonatrach will begin production with a total capacity
of 2.0 million tons of nitrogen-based fertilizers. The Group also has
an investment in a fertilizer plant in Nigeria. With production from
Algeria and the expansion in Egypt, the OCI Fertilizer Group will
firmly place among top world producers.
