Solarfun Power Holdings Co. Ltd. (SOLF) engages in the manufacture and sale of silicon ingots, photovoltaic (PV) cells and PV modules. The Company offers monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon cells and modules, monocrystalline ingots and raw materials. It also provides PV cell and PV module processing services. The Company sells its products directly and through third party distributors to solar power system integrators and distributors. It operates primarily in the People's Republic of China, Germany, Spain and Italy. SOLF conducts its business in China through its operating subsidiary, Linyang China. In February 2008, the Company established Solarfun Power Deutschland GmbH. On August 1, 2008, the Company acquired the remaining 48% equity interest in Yangguang Solar.

These modules were delivered during the fourth quarter of 2009 ...’We continue to believe that renewable energy such as solar power will play a significant role in China's efforts to meet the growing needs for electricity, and as a means to address climate change,’ SOLF president Peter Xie was quoted as saying.

“Anticipating demand, SOLF has announced early this month that will its increase its PV module production capacity from 550MW to 700MW by April 2010 and its PV cell production capacity from 360MW to 480MW by July 2010.”
