SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - February 2, 2010) - AtHoc, Inc., the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency mass notification systems, today announced that the U.S. Army Reserve's 7th Civil Support Command (CSC) will deploy AtHoc IWSAlerts™ network-centric mass notification system for rapid alerting, personnel recall and accountability during an emergency.

Previously, the 7th CSC relied on a traditional megaphone alerting system for its emergency mass notification. AtHoc IWSAlerts will provide the 7th CSC with rapid, secure and pervasive alerting via networked devices such as computers and alerts sent via telephone. AtHoc's network-centric capability will support the 7th CSC commanders with alert response tracking and reporting of personnel status during an emergency.

The 7th CSC is an operational unit of highly trained forces ready to provide forward-stationed consequence management, command and control, and civil affairs capabilities under the direction of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command. With approximately 1,000 personnel, the 7th CSC is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, with subordinate units located throughout Germany and Italy.

"This implementation demonstrates the confidence the Army has placed in our technology to meet Department of Defense requirements for notification, recall and personnel accountability," stated (Ret.) Army Col. David Brown, director of Army operations for AtHoc. "The 7th CSC deployment is significant as it represents another substantial DoD adoption of network-centric mass alerting technology by operational units. These implementations further underscore the reliability and effectiveness of AtHoc technology."

The employment of AtHoc's mass notification system by the 7th CSC represents a growing adaptation by the U.S. Army in Europe. AtHoc solutions are now used at several installations in Europe, with the Army now expanding its use of network-centric mass notification systems beyond garrisons and installations to implementations by operational units such as the 7th CSC.
