MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - Evernote, a web service designed to allow
users to easily capture and store information, memories, and content in any
environment, today announced the availability of an Evernote Sharing
Plug-in for the Nokia N900 mobile computer. This plug-in, developed by
Nokia, adds Evernote to the built-in sharing functionality of the device,
allowing users to send snapshots from the camera and photo gallery, as well
as audio, and other content into Evernote as part of their normal
interaction with the N900 device.
Nokia used the Evernote API to develop the Sharing Plug-in, which works
seamlessly with the recently released Maemo platform. After a one-step
installation process, users gain the ability to send various types of
content directly from the device's sharing menu. Once in Evernote,
everything is processed and made searchable. Notes created from the device,
or from desktop and web versions of Evernote, can be accessed through the
built-in web browser on the N900.
"Our goal at Evernote is to make it incredibly easy to capture any idea,
moment, or memory as it happens," said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. "By
leveraging the Evernote API, Nokia adds a new dimension to the Maemo
platform, turning it into a powerful memory-enhancement tool. With
Evernote's search and synchronization capabilities, N900 users can truly
remember everything."
Availability
The Evernote Sharing Plug-in is available for free from the Nokia Ovi Store
and the Maemo Select website.
