REMINDER: Cisco to Introduce Melissa Hathaway in New Security Advisory Role


SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) -   On Thursday, Feb. 4, Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) will host a live Cisco TV broadcast and Q&A session to introduce Melissa Hathaway, previously acting senior director for Cyberspace within the National Security Council for President Barack Obama's administration, as senior adviser to the Company's security team. The broadcast will spotlight the work she will be involved in to help advance cybersecurity policy and tighter partnering between the private and public sectors. The broadcast will highlight:

  • Melissa Hathaway's new role at Cisco: Hathaway will discuss her unique perspective on how the government and the private sector can collaborate to improve cybersecurity domestically and internationally. Hathaway currently is president of Hathaway Global Strategies, LLC and serves as senior adviser, Harvard Kennedy School of Government's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
  • Cisco's role in cybersecurity policy and collaboration with government: Cisco Vice President and Chief Security Officer John N. Stewart will discuss the company's work supporting private and public cybersecurity interests.
  • Advanced security technology: To help protect the nation and the world's security infrastructure, such as the Cisco® Security Intelligence Operations, which provides threat identification, analysis and mitigation, and the highest level of security for Cisco customers.
  • Threat trends: Marie Hattar, vice president, Borderless Networks Security Marketing at Cisco, will review key findings from the Company's annual security report and moderate the discussion.
