RAID Inc. Announces Upgrade to Xanadu(R) Series With 130 Solution

METHUEN, MA--(Marketwire - February 10, 2010) - RAID Incorporated, an end-to-end high-performance solutions provider specializing in leading-edge storage technologies, today announced major upgrades in their Xanadu® series with the Xanadu 130 storage solution, a new addition to the series which provides at least a 30% performance boost over the previous generation Xanadu 110 solution.

The impressive performance increases are the result of new features such as 8Gb Fibre-Channel host interfaces, 6Gb Serial-Attached SCSI backplanes and expansion ports, and an upgraded controller chipset. The same enterprise-class features as previous-generation Xanadu solutions also come standard in each Xanadu 130 system, including parity check on reads to prevent against silent data corruption, dynamic provisioning which allows users to add capacity online non-disruptively, and self-healing technology which eliminates up to 50% of all drive rebuilds.

Along with the upgraded performance capabilities, the Xanadu 130 solution is also the first Xanadu-series system on which RAID Inc. has qualified 2TB enterprise SATA drives for high-density storage, and 600GB 15,000 RPM SAS drives for I/O-intensive storage. This allows for scalability in the system to a maximum of 288 TB in SATA and 86.4 TB in SAS, or any combination for tiered environments with various application performance needs.
