Munich, February 15, 2010 - Gigaset Communications GmbH, a subsidiary in
which ARQUES Industries AG holds an 80% interest, has a new management team
as of today.
Hans-Burghardt Ziermann (56), a member of the VARTA Microbatteries
executive board since 2007, takes over the management of the distribution
department. The computer sciences graduate has comprehensive experience
within this area which he gained in managerial positions at VIAG Intercom,
France Telekom and Motorola among others.
Hans Gisbert Ulmke, chairman of the ARQUES Industries AG executive board:
'We are delighted that we could recruit Mr. Ziermann for the tasks at
Gigaset. He is a renowned manager with broad international experience who
has worked in large corporations, in the development of VIAG Intercom,
among others. With his contribution Gigaset will develop even more
successfully'.
His predecessor at Gigaset, José Costa e Silva, will be leaving the
company.
As new managing director, Wolfgang Scheid (58) will be responsible for
restructuring, project management, IT and human resources. The mathematics
graduate was Vice President Operation at ARQUES Industries AG to date.
Previously he worked as management consultant as well as in managerial
positions at, among others, Lekkerland GmbH & Co. KG, Klöckner & Co. AG as
well as Thyssen Handelsunion AG.
The commercial management position at Gigaset will be filled at a later
date.
Michael Hütten, member of the ARQUES Industries AG executive board, will be
leaving the Gigaset management as planned and will join the Supervisory
Board.
The Board of Management of Gigaset Communications now consists of Mr.
Wolfgang Scheid, Mr. Martin Streb und Mr. Hans-Burghardt Ziermann.
Mr. Hütten explains: 'Within the context of the successful restructuring,
ARQUES created a basis from which Gigaset will in future be able to obtain
sustainable, profitable growth by virtue of its own strength. I thank the
Gigaset employees for their support and commitment'.
